Cassandre Charles

Cassandre Charles (BA) is an interdisciplinary artist and storyteller with an extensive background in technical theater production. As a fine arts model and artist, Cassandre has curated extraordinary open figure drawing sessions that combined visual art, music, and spoken word and dance forThe Museum of Fine Arts, Massachusetts College of Art, Mass College of Art & Design, and Rocco Ricc’s Studio.

Cassandre is a member of the Lipstick Criminals, Slaughterhouse Society, The Scarlett Tongue Project Art Collective, and a former member of Paradise Lost. Cassandre’s work for the Scarlett Tongue Project Art Collective has been presented at Rocco Ricci Studio (resident artist) (Allston, MA), La Nave, and La Porqorio, (Mexico City, Mexico), and Dorchester Art Project (Dorchester, MA).

In 2019 she performed with Diana Oh (Community Artist Resident) on their final performance, Clairvoyance for the American Repertory Theater, Cambridge MA, and in an interactive drawing session at the ICA, earning her Artists at Residency credits with ART. Her most recent co-curated work includes “Transformations’, and ‘Reciprocal Art’ with performance artist, Edward Monovich for the Mass Art Museum (MAAM).

Cassandre is the founder and creative producer of United Colors of Burlesque, now UNITED, a house for the creation and performance of performers of color. Cassandre holds a degree in Speech Communication from Hampton University and audits any class allowed at Mass College of Art. She plans to use her aMassIt work for her portfolio building and pursue further opportunities to present art in the public domain.
