Anugraha Raman is a passionate Indian Classical Dancer with ~30 years of training in Bharatanatyam and 5 years of training in Kathak. She is currently continuing her Bharatanatyam training with her Guru Meena Subramanyam, and learning Kathak from her Guru Neha Patel. A Mass Cultural Council grant recipient, she has performed in the Greater Boston Area, Indian Fine Arts Academy of San Diego, and in virtual festivals. She believes Bharatanatyam can be accessible and relatable to diverse audiences. To this end, she participated in the IndianRaga fellowship to create culturally inclusive digital content that speaks to a broad spectrum of viewers. She also directs Boston Adavu– a community initiative that fosters self-growth, specifically supporting bharatanatyam dancers who have re-engaged with dance after a break. Pertinent to the project she will share with you today, she is the founder of Anushasanam Arts--an organization that provides ashtanga yoga inspired classes for dancers and shares dance with the broader community through teaching and performance.
