Brianna is an alum of Endicott College, who received her Bachelors of Science Degree in May 2013 for a major in Interior Architecture, concentrating in Sustainable Design, and a minor in Dance. She is currently completing graduate school at Endicott’s Van Loan School of Graduate and Professional Studies and will achieve her Masters of the Arts Degree in August 2014 (again in Interior Architecture and Sustainable Design).
Brianna has been dancing since her time in the womb. Growing up in a groovin’ family of not-so-fancy feet, she has always been comfortable breakin’ it down on the dance floor. But in hope that she might develop into a more coordinated dancer, her mother enrolled her into a tap & tumble at the wee age of 3, and the rest is history. Brianna took to ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, hip-hop, musical theater, lyrical, and modern dance classes at her hometown studio Aprille’s Danceprints, in Ellington, CT. As she advanced, she began assisting and teaching classes at the studio, competing on the studio team all throughout the North East, and gaining game and field experience dancing and competing with her high school team.
Throughout college, she has been part of the Endicott College Dance Team, performing for football and basketball games, as well as competing with the Competition Team in Pom and Jazz dance categories. She has also continued her dance career through composition and ensemble classes at Endicott College; learning EC’s Coordinator of Dance, Nicole SaoPedro-Welch, as well as developing works of her own.
Brianna has danced in various workshops including: Alvin Ailey intensive, Evelyn Legate of Boston Ballet, Betsi Graves of Urbanity, & Annika Sheaff of Pilobolus. She has also had the great opportunity to work with esteemed artists such as …. Shawn Martini, Lauren Garson, and Kathrine Naame-Rosech of Parsons Dance Company, Nicole Harris and Karen Krolak of Monkeyhouse, Caitlin Meehan of Falling Flight Project and Monkeyhouse, Mariah Steele of Quicksilver Dance, and Sarah-Katrina Clark of Boston Contemporary Dance Project. It is through working with these artists, as well as those she studied and danced for while studying abroad in Florence, Italy, that Brianna has matured into the malleable and well cultured dancer that she is today.
Brianna began dancing with Monkeyhouse in June 2013, and has since performed in Dance at the Fells: Wright’s Pond in Medford, MA, October 2013. Throughout her endeavors, she has kept Monkeyhouse within reach and is excited to be part of the annual 24hour Choreofest, as well as the creation of the Dancing Mandala Project!
