Kate Marotta is a Massachusetts-based dancer and choreographer who uses movement to explore and express scientific ideas. A Dance and Biology major at Dean College, she creates work that translates complex concepts—like natural frequency, Newton’s Laws, and biomedical ethics—into physical, emotional experiences. Her choreography has been featured in Dean College productions and Arts Mosaic, and she has attended intensives with the Paul Taylor Company and is currently part of the AMassiT Choreography Mentorship. Kate is currently developing a new piece that explores the importance of FDA approval for medical drugs, using the New England Compounding Center case as a powerful example of why regulation and oversight are critical. With experience in both the arts and healthcare settings, she is passionate about using movement to bridge the gap between science and storytelling. She’s always seeking interdisciplinary collaboration, believing that choreography can educate, inspire, and transform.
