My name is Mira Göksel (she/they), and I am a movement artist from Izmir, Turkey, currently located on unceded Massachusett and Pawtucket land- now referred to as Boston, MA. I am a dancer, creator, collaborator, organizer, and lover of spicy art and food.

I started dancing at 4 years old, by the time I turned 8 I had convinced my parents that I had to leave my family to travel and better invest in my dance education. That stubbornness pushed me around to the UK, Joffrey Ballet School in NYC, and lastly brought me to the Boston Conservatory where I graduated with a BFA in May of 2022. I now invest my time in teaching, creating, vieving, and conversing about dance. I currently teach across Boston, perform and choreograph, and co-coordinate an interdisciplinary improv based playspace and performance series titled Moments Notice, with Olivier Besson. In recent years I have also had the pleasure of presenting work at The Boston Conservatory, Boston WiP, WESTFEST Dance Festival, freeskewl, and BAAD!.

I strive for movement creation rooted in emotional and physical instincts working hand in hand for the most organic outcome in all tenses of creating. I will forever commit to the nurturing of an inclusive space with my investment in mutual support, respect and harmony.
