Malden Dance Mile Vendors
Overview
The Malden Dance Mile is normally a choreographic adventure that takes place along Malden’s community path. Due to the restrictions of Covid this year’s event has become something a little different. Held at the parking lot for the old Court House, the Dance Mile will kick off a summer event series in the City of Malden with two nights of free, outdoor, dance film showings featuring the work of 27 local choreographers.
Alongside the films will be a small arts fair. Selling begins at 5pm. You have the option to close your booth at 7:30 and be cleared out of the space before the films begin, or to stay for the films and sell to audiences after films end. To avoid chaos, all booths will be closed while films are playing.
This event is open to people of all ages.
The entire event is outdoors and accessible to most mobility devices. There will be access to bathrooms in City Hall. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide tents for your site (although you are welcome to bring one!). There will be some shade but sunscreen and/or sunglasses may be needed.

Fees
There is no fee to apply. Artists are encouraged to make a donation to Monkeyhouse in exchange for their booth. We want to provide this opportunity to as many artists as possible and do not want finances to discourage participation. However, Monkeyhouse is a small nonprofit organization that relies on the generosity of our community to continue providing these opportunities to local artists. The amount of your donation is entirely up to you. You’re welcome to pick an amount up front that feels comfortable for you or determine the amount based on a percentage of your sales. Some things to consider:
- Most artist fairs have a $30-$50 application fee.
- On average, rental of a booth at an artist fair begins at $275.
- Every penny will help and we appreciate any donation you can offer.
