In the early days of Monkeyhouse we had a fundraising campaign called Monkey Money. Donors collected their change at the end of each day into a can. When the can filled they would return it to Monkeyhouse as a donation. Over the years people began using cash less and less and Monkey Money became obsolete. Now, just in time for our 20th birthday, we have a way for you to return to that idea without having to go back to carrying cash.

The difference will be donated to Monkeyhouse! You have complete control over your donation amounts, including setting monthly donation limits as low as $5! Plus our Rehearsal Space Grants do double duty to support Boston's arts ecosystem. The Dance Complex and OnStage Dance Company will be paid for space and two choreographers will get to rehearse for free.

Who gets a Space Grant?
We believe in supporting the artists we work with throughout their career, not just in the moment we’re working together. So in celebration of our 20th birthday ten of the artists we are working with for aMaSSit and Against the Odds (Covid Collaborations projects) will have the opportunity to get one of the Rehearsal Space Grants so they can continue to develop their work when their projects end.

Why Spare Change?
1. Cheerful does all the work! You just have to sign up once and they will initiate your donation every time your spare change reaches $5.
2. Your charitable giving doesn’t need to break the bank! At the end of the year dozens of organizations are asking you for money and it can be hard to give to everyone you want to support all at the same time. Spare Change allows you to spread your normal donation out over the course of the year. Thinking about donating $75? That’s less than $7 a month!
3. You can cover the fees! Almost all online fundraising platforms have a small processing fee. Normally, those fees are taken out of the donation before it goes to the nonprofit. Spare Change allows you to cover the fee if you want so that all of your donation goes straight to Monkeyhouse!
